Where Will You VanVan 200 Take You?

Perhaps it may not the best motorcycle to take on long tours across the country, but the Suzuki VanVan 200 is certainly up for scenic day trips and a Japanese YouTuber has been living the VanVan life since 2015.

A fun little retro looking bike with a small displacement engine, the VanVan 200 was finally imported to North America after 40 years. Though the VanVan 200 has been part of Suzuki’s lineup in one form or another for years, it was never sold in North American until now.

The retro-styled scrambler is designed to take you anywhere, from narrow city streets to some packed dirt trails in the woods. Thanks to its low and very cushy seat, riders can go on a day long cruise without walking around bowlegged afterwards. Coupled with an air-cooled 199cc two-valve motor and the VanVan 200 becomes an accommodating little machine that encourages new riders to go out and explore the world.

Equipped with a set of fat tires to absorb whatever bumps the bike’s 33 mm telescopic front fork and rear monoshock misses, the VanVan 200 is a great little weekend ride. With its friendly looks, riders will be sure to attract attention wherever it goes.

Which begs the question; where will your VanVan 200 take you?

To be honest... probably just city riding. Maybe, if I can get away with it, hooning through the park in the night time... that's as far off-road as it'll really get lol.

I can agree, on the odd occasion I may get slightly into some grassy field like terrain when I head up North to see family and what not, but city streets is where I'm bound to.

Nice, I like the sounds of that. What are the inclines and declines like where you live? Interested in knowing how well it climbs up those and controls its speed on the way down.

I used to take long 3 hour rides, but my joints can't handle it anymore and I find them tiring.

I ride mine a fair amount as I do a forty mile commute on it four times a week. Took it to Death Valley and enjoyed a150 mile ride. Also did a ride up in Washington States Olympic peninsula', 90 miles. I did change the rear sprocket. I have ridden it a lot on weekend trips in the Sierra Nevada.
