Engine cuts off sitting at traffic lights

Hey all,

My 2017 VV with about 2000 miles on it cuts off when I sit at long lights. It always re-starts immediately but this is worrying. It happens when I'm in neutral and when I hold the clutch in, and when it's hot.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks

2018 with around 2800 miles. I have had mine do it about 3 time in the last few months. Couple time at long lights. The first time was waiting on a train at a crossing, in neutral.

Yes mine also.

Always low rpm, sometimes stop, coasting to stop, going around corner slow.

Always restarted.

Once climb hill & I tipped it over as a was off at angle on hill.

6 times in 2800 miles.

I've had that happen to me a few times as well. Fuel filter? Bad gas/water in tank? Air pocket? Beats me...

Rode about 60 miles today, she cut out twice but only in neutral, so I'll just hold the clutch in.
Maybe an overheating thing.

Possibly an FI issue. this would be a good question to ask on the DR-200 forums. Same motor but, non-FI. If it's not a common issue with the DR, it's probably FI related. Our '17 has done it a couple of times now, can't remember if it was in gear or neutral at the time.

Is there a way to up the idle RPM on this EFI bike? Maybe the idle is just a tad too low. Most likely all the control is in the ECU. Can the ECU map be altered with a laptop? I'm sure the ECU map can be altered by a dealer svc dept but can it also be modified at home?

(BTW, I don't have a svc manual to look this up.)

Nothing in manual about adjusting idle.

Why are you all sitting at lights? I just take a right turn if I get caught at a light. I have no patience for sitting.

Bike has never stalled on me. I only run non-ethanol fuel.

That has to be the stupidest advice I've ever read on a m/c forum.
