Tire Letter Paint

I went ahead and painted the tire letters white today. I like the look.

Looks good. The white accents on the bike tie it together nicely.

Newbie questions but...

How does one do that?

What type of pain should be used?

How long will it last?

What happens when you wash the tires?

Or cross a shallow river?

I use a Sharpie Brand, oil based white paint pen. Cost about 3 bucks. I've driven through puddles, does fine. Every now and then, just touch up.
