I've always wondered about those dual sport helmets. Are they meant to be used on the road (city/highway)? I thought they were only for dirt bikes.

Dirt bike helmets have no face shields since off-roading on the dirt doesn't imply high speeds. Also, it can easily get fogged up because of the rider's efforts to stay on the bike during aggressive maneuvers, which makes him/her hot. Dual sport bikes and helmets are meant to be used both on the street and off-road. The visor on such a helmet can be easily removed for high-speed riding.
