Hello from southern AZ (USA)

I'm an old retired guy, almost 70 yrs old. I've had many motorcycles in my 51 years of riding -- I have a few right now.

Going to look at a 2019 RV200 and need to ask a few questions . . .

The bike I'm going to look at tomorrow (2019) only has 70 miles on it. So, at 500 or so miles is the first service. Is this anything more than an oil/filter change? Do they go thru the valves?

Sorry to ask this but I don't have an owner's manual or a service manual yet.

I think the do oil, valves, retorque bolts, clean and lube chain. I dont have my manual on me at the moment but I think that may be it.

Thanks!

I thought that they may do the valves on this first service. Same as the DR650. I guess that makes sense since the engine is a DR200S engine.

Do you think the VanVan 200 will be OK for me? I'm 6'2" and about 230 lbs.

Is the final drive chain an o-ring chain?

Only you can answer that question. What is it you want out of this bike? For me it is a lightweight toy that I can put on a rack behind my truck and take on work trips for something to ride in the evenings and weekends. It will go a true 55 mph but for me it is happiest at 45 mph and below.

Super comfortable seat.

I did put 1 inch riser blocks on mine for a little more comfort.

If you are looking for that large mini bike experience like you had when you were 12 then go for it. If you are looking for a utilitarian motorcycle that can drone on the highway for an hour it is the wrong bike.

Have a fun test ride.

Let’s us know what you did.

What town in southern Arizona?

I’m no spring chicken, I’m 73. I have 4 licensed bikes.

This deal fell through. So I'm back to looking for a nice used one.

I'm also looking at these bikes: Suzuki TU250X, Suzuki LS650 (S40), Yamaha SR400, Yamaha XT250, Yamaha TW200

To all: Thanks for the tips.

Anyone know if the final drive chain is an o-ring chain?

Thanks. I think I want about the same thing you do.

I have bikes to ride if I want to go fast, so it doesn't have to be a highway bike.
