Downsizing to Van Van's # 5&6

Wife and I are buying two more of these V an Van 200's, to use in the Great Pacific Northwest. We have previously owned 4 of these bikes in the recent past. Had 2 of them at our house on the south island of New Zealand, and 2 at our cottage on the Isle of Man. Have sold both those homes, and all 4 of those Van Van 200's. But we loved the little bikes SO much, we decided to get 2 more here in the Great Pacific Northwest, as word is they will not be available for a 2020 model year.

A new 2019 in Orange, and a new 2019 in Grey.

WOW! I have never in my life repeated on a bike. Congrats and welcome.

I will be heading out for the next 5 weeks. The VanVan is going in the back of the truck and the Harley in the enclosed trailer. I will have all my riding scenarios covered.

I hate to saw this, but I have 3 tws. I leave one and a house in AZ, and one in IL, and one travels with me.

My theory, when I break down I have a backup. For example a couple of days ago I had a flat on the back of the vanvan. I hauled the rim to the tire shop on the back of the TW.

Or when I got new tires for the TW, I took them on the other TW to get them changed out.

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest

Where will you be keeping your new Van Vans?

I just recently purchased a "new" 2017 with 168 miles from private owner, enjoying it very much.

I'm in Sammamish, WA if you ever get in my area and care to go a vanning.

Best regards,

Picked up the first of the two new V V's today, the Orange one the local dealer had in stock. We decided that rather than having my local dealer get the Grey one from another dealer (which they could have gotten tomorrow), I told them to go ahead and order one from Suzy, and it will be here next week.

I have had 3 TW's in the recent past, a couple '13's, and a '14. Built my TW's to go anywhere, and I do mean some radical changes/improvements to the TW's. I already have "minor" changes/improvements planned for our V V's, but nothing crazy.

Example, remove the OEM rider footpegs, throw them at the first F-150 that drives bye, and install a pair of Honda Goldwing 1800 footpegs on the V V, so you have a larger footpad, slightly lower footpad, and more comfortable footpad. The gearshift lever is very easy to adjust on these V V's, so adjust to fit your own foot needs.

Dwain...I am outside Tumwater, WA.

On the theme of footpegs, has anyone found a way to lower the passenger pegs by a couple of inches?

I have given this some thought, and decided if I am going to post on these forums as a quasi- experienced Van Van owner, and mechanic, and expect other riders to take me at my word as knowing what I am talking about on these bikes, maybe I had better give a slightly more detailed introduction as to who I am.

I "could" wax poetic about life, riding, the world, but I will post this one article about me on here, and you folks can decide for yourselves if I am to be believed when I say I speak from experience.

This article is from page # 24, of the November 2017 issue of American Motorcyclist, from the AMA.

You may have to click on that attachment a couple time, to fully blow it up, and be readable.

Bottom line, there are four (4) riders on the planet that have Documented, been Verified, and been Certified at over Two Million Miles on motorcycles. I am the rider with the 3rd highest mileage, at over 2,000,000 miles.
Of those same 4 riders, I am also the only one that has ridden a motorcycle on ALL 7 continents.

Okay, enough about me.
